Minimum cover must be equivalent or larger than the size of the main reinforcing bar or in the case of bundling, the equivalent bar.

Damp course must be laid in all walls and above window and door openings and under window sills exposed to the weather to stop the vertical ingress of water. Damp courses must be laid to the full thickness of the wall and lapped 150mm at all joints.
All damp courses must protrude 5mm from the external face of the wall. During installation care should be taken not to puncture the damp course.
Damp course is supplied in rolls of 150mm wide x 40m with a thickness of 375 microns as per SABS specification.
USB Green sheeting is installed underneath all floor slabs to prevent the ingress of moisture. USB Green also prevents contamination of the mortar mix and promotes the curing of slabs. Adjacent Sheets must be overlapped by 10%. During installation care should be taken not to puncture sheets
USB Green sheeting is supplied in rolls of 30m x 3m wide with a thickness of 250 micron as per SANS 10400-J Specification
1.6mm Black annealed binding wire is used to tie reinforcing elements together before concrete is poured. Staalbeer supplies both 5 kg and 50kg rolls.
